Vision of the Future Reflection
Introduction
For my final vision, I create a primary school scope and sequence for digital learning.
Rational
In the past, digital citizenship/digital learning has been taught inconsistently between classes and grades. I have tried to push into classes for lessons but with busy classroom schedules it ieasily fell through the cracks. We tried to spend a bit of time during student library sessions for a quick discussion but again this was also sporadic at best.
Process
Speedbumps
The slideshow seems a very basic way to gather information. I would rather have a full website with resources and lessons ready for teachers, librarians and ed tech coaches to use. This will be a goal I will work on next year.
A second speedbump was the abundance of resource and ideas which made it difficult to stay focused. I felt several times the project could have gotten out of control but keeping simple and to one slide help me to stay focused... for now.

Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love how strategically you connected your digital literacy to anchor books! I have used some of those in the past and found them to be such meaningful tools for discussion surrounding digital citizenship! Your goals and components of digital literacy explored each year are clear and easy to follow. Our school is working to create a digital literacy scope and sequence in the fall, and I'm sure I will be using some inspiration from your work here.
I would love to chat more during the fall about your process for creating a scope and sequence. This is only the first steps and I would be happy to share with you what we come up with along the way.
